Funding

The Government has highlighted the importance of vocational training in developing the nation’s skills base and as a result has allocated money to fund training for eligible candidates.

Eligibility

There are no formal minimal requirements for entry to a Weir Training qualification, but in order to succeed and get the most from the programme, you need to be enthusiastic, committed and hard working.

To enrol on a Weir Training Apprenticeship programme, you must:

  • Aged 16-24
  • Work a minimum 16 hours per week
  • Not be at college or university
  • Not hold a degree or NVQ/equivalent at level 4 or above
  • Prior achievement will need to be taken into consideration re funding eligibility

To enrol on a Weir Training Adult Apprenticeship programme, you must:

  • Be over the age of 25
  • Work a minimum of 16 hors per week
  • Not be at college or university
  • Not hold a degree  or NVQ/equivalent at level 4 or above
  • Prior achievement will need to be taken into consideration re funding eligibility

To enrol on a Weir Training Train to Gain programme, you must:

  • Be aged 19+ (although for 19-24 the apprenticeship is preferred route)
  • Work a minimum 16 hours per week
  • Meet residency criteria
  • Meet immigration criteria
  • Prior achievement will need to be taken into consideration re funding eligibility
