The results are in – which option is best for you?

Posted on by admin

Thousands of young people across the UK now have their exam results. However, there are still a lot of questions to ask. Where do you go next? Do you carry on with your education? Do you get a job and start earning money? What do you want to do with your career?

Before you make this decision, it’s important you have all the right information first.

Recent youth unemployment figures show that 1 in 6 young people are not in employment, education or training.* Now you have finished school, you don’t have to become a part of this statistic. University and college could be an option, however figures from the university admissions service confirmed university applications from UK students are down 8.9% on last year.* Why?

Government funding opportunities, media interest and public opinion has increased the focus on getting young people into work and onto their careers. The Government is committed to investing in young people gaining qualifications as well as hands-on experience. The focus on work based learning has seen thousands of employers supporting the Government’s promise to provide high quality training to individuals across the UK. In 2012 alone, the Government pledged to create 100,000 extra Apprenticeship opportunities. This summer, the National Apprenticeship Service have announced a record number of up to 15,000 Apprenticeships vacancies in over 1,400 job roles* available.

Furthermore, the recent reform of the AGE Grant available to employers has meant that thousands of businesses can access additional funding to provide Apprenticeships to young people. The grant allows employers to access £1,500 for each new Apprenticeship opportunity payable after 15 weeks.

With this focus on Apprenticeships, young people are able to access a wide range of opportunities that were not available in the past. Now more than ever, young people are able to move into employment with ease, getting experience employers really value, whilst earning a wage and continuing with their education by gaining a qualification at the same time.

We deliver Apprenticeships in a variety of sectors including:
